High Speed Training - 2024 impact report review
I always enjoy learning about a new business and also one delivering impact in an industry I’ve not looked into before. This week’s impact report is from High Speed Training who deliver online training to help make workplaces safer.
👍🏻 Three things I like:
1. DELIVER IMPACT THROUGH WHAT THEY DO
Their online training (e.g. health & safety) is designed to make workplaces safer.
There is a clear connection between what they do as a business and the impact they have – businesses can always have a far greater impact when their core business delivers their impact objectives.
2. CHARITY PARTNERSHIPS ALIGNED WITH CORE MISSION
They have charity partnerships which align with their mission of “making workplaces safer through high-quality online training”.
E.g. Mesothelioma UK endorse their asbestos awareness course; and High Speed Training support the work of the Benedict Blythe Foundation, which works to protect children with allergies in schools.
3. PROVIDE TRAINING THROUGH NON-PROFIT PARTNERSHIPS
They provide free training for schools – e.g. around allergies and anaphylaxis, and safeguarding.
They provided free training to local grassroots organisations through GiveBradford.
❓Three questions it raises:
1. WHAT DID THEY LEARN?
What didn’t work out as expected during the year?
What mistakes did they make?
What did they learn?
2. EMPLOYEE OWNERSHIP - WHAT HAVE THEY LEARNT?
They’ve been employee owned for one year. What have they learnt?
How has it impacted the culture?
What have been the benefits?
What have been the challenges?
3. HOW DID THEY DECIDE FOCUS AREAS FOR LOCAL COMMUNITY IMPACT?
Their local community impact themes are:
Employability,
Barriers to learning and social mobility, and
Investing in the local district.
How did they decide on those three areas? Did they consciously decide not to connect these to their overarching purpose of enabling safety?
